PURE GINGER ESSENTIAL OIL
Delicious and warming, ginger has been used as a domestic spice and remedy for thousands of years in many cultures, especially in the East. With its remarkable healing powers, it remains a staple of both Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine and is utilized throughout the world for treating many complaints, including indigestion, flatulence, nausea, toothache, sore throats, sinusitis, malaria, bacterial dysentery, menstrual cramps, muscle spasms, diminished sex drive, and a weak heart.
Gingerroot, whether taken internally in a variety of forms or used as an essential oil, is good medicine for cold, moist conditions where drying warmth is needed, such as excessive “runny” mucus, rheumatism, edema, and diarrhea. It’s one of the most widely beneficial warming stimulants. Its main areas of remediation are digestive complaints, including excess gas and nausea; dizziness and motion sickness; fatigue; cold, stiff muscle and joint discomforts; muscle spasms, including spasmodic migraine headaches; sprains, strains, and bruises; poor circulation; and lymphedema. If fluids in
the body are stagnant or retained, ginger will help get things moving, and if they are in excess, ginger’s gentle astringent action will tone and tighten tissues and reduce flow.
